Apocalypse as Transforming

Wikipedia says: “An apocalypse (Ancient Greek: ἀποκάλυψις apocálypsis, from ἀπό and καλύπτω meaning ‘un-covering’), translated literally from Greek refers to a revelation of something hidden, although this sense did not enter English until the 14th century.[1] In religious contexts it is usually a revelation of hidden meaning – hidden from human knowledge in an era dominated by falsehood and misconception.” There has always been a global fear of this but the actual, deep reason for this is that we are frightened to know our own inner, deep secrets, ones that would require us to make changes that our ego selves don’t want us to make. So we project our inner fears outward and remain in fear of a global disaster (usually presented by some organized religions as punishment by a wrathful god) when in truth, what we truly fear is what’s inside of us – and 99% of the time, we misinterpret what’s inside as something negative, when it’s actually something very powerful and life-affirming – something that can take us to a higher level of understanding and Soul growth. All of us have personal apocalypses in our lives that we interpret as being bad – or that we’re bad in some way – when the “uncovering” is a veil over our magnificence! All of the mystical teachings remind us that the resolution of the fear of personal and global annihilation is the opening of the heart to unconditional Love.
