SPIRITUAL MESSAGE FOR July
Two approaches to self-healing which, used exclusively, may block authentic and long-lasting growth. They are the mental-analytical, or “left-brained” methods found in many psychotherapies, and the emotional-intuitive, or “right-brained” approach. These techniques have merit, but when used solely to stimulate inner growth, they may overshadow, ignore, or even demean the other, creating what results in imbalance instead of health.
The key is to integrate both the mental-analytical and emotional-intuitive through accepting the gifts that both hold when unified. By honoring the mental, cognitive, reasoning side of us, we learn a great deal about the problem while feeding the ego’s need to direct our activities in order to stay in control. This allows us to be relaxed and interested in the preliminary research into our problematic behaviors. The ego senses no threat because it characteristically uses the rational mind to its benefit. It revels in exploring words, phrases and ideas. It is in one of its favorite and familiar elements.
By offering the ego something familiar, it is not as vigilant in its control of our thoughts. It becomes an intriguing trick we play on it. This enables the ego to let go of control, and the right-brained functions begin to awaken as companion, rather than competitor, to the left-brain activities. Balance is only possible when both aspects of the brain cooperate.
E-Books
I hope you will take a look at my two e-books now available on this website. One is a novel based upon my personal and professional experience of the various processes we go through in our spiritual transformation. The other is a self-help book that addresses many of the challenges we face as we grow spiritually. In addition to basic information about these books, you will also find an excerpt from each, as well as a discount if you buy both. Many blessings on your pathway.
